Run Wild MultiSports was founded by seven local fitness enthusiasts: Don Cassano, Elizabeth Cassano, Lawson Fall, Gaynell Lemoine, Jay Lemoine, Robyn Schwartz and Ronnie Schwartz to ensure opportunities for residents of our community to participate in group exercise/training sessions, fitness events and learning lectures.

The goal is to create an avenue for a healthier lifestyle in the community we call home.  Founders of Run Wild MultiSports anticipate achieving this goal through the many events scheduled for 2007, the strong initiatives in progress and the incredible support of its sponsors.

One focus is a youth initiative with a strong stand on childhood obesity.  “Obesity, over weight and health statistics of our youth is startling," states Elizabeth Cassano.  The club is proud to unfold its youth initiative, “Wild Kidz: Start Fit, Stay Fit!"  All events of the youth initiative will bear the name “Wild Kidz."
The initiative will include the Wild Kidz Triathlon (slated for April 14th at ASH), Wild Kidz Run (a running event) and Wild Kidz Ride (a series of mountain bike rides for ages 7-14) and a couple of surprise events throughout the year.

Membership is far beyond being all about the club or its members.  As goal oriented individuals and athletes we feel we should be role models for others in our community. By joining RWM, members are committing to the “Better to Give than Receive" motto.  By adopting this motto the Club will ensure that its members give back to the local community. Two programs have been created for members to give back. First, RWM has selected Pediatric Therapy Center as its philanthropic partner. This is a local not for profit organization, that provides physical therapy, occupational and speech therapy services to special needs kids in our community.  Second, members will fulfill their obligation by volunteering at selected fitness events.

As of February 2007, RWM is 100+ members strong with a support network second to none! Run Wild MultiSports is proud to have the incredible support of its 2007 sponsors: Alexandria Otolaryngology Associates, Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital, Hixson Ford, Louisiana Athletic Club, Run Wild, Yankee Clipper, Opus Broadcasting, Armour Law Firm and CenlaHealth.com. These sponsors allow the club to pursue its goals and create a more fitness minded CENLA.

RWM is a member of each of the respective organizations that govern the sports it supports: United States Masters Swimming (USMS), USA Cycling (USAC), Road Runners Club of America (RRCA) and USA Triathlon (USAT).  RWM holds insurance certificates with each organization.  All RWM events will operate in accordance with respective organizations guidelines and be insured through respective provider. Members are encouraged, however not required, to join the respective organizations, as well.
