Does It Matter Where You Get Your MRI?
MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) is one of the most widely used diagnostic tools in use today. It can become confusing who to choose, and most importantly, why you should choose where you go for an MRI.
Does it matter where you get your MRI? YES, because it takes more than equipment to make the difference in the outcome of your exam. You want a facility to meet your needs. That may be front door parking, friendly staff and environment, little or no wait time, and fast results. If insurance is a problem ask the imaging center what their billing and collection policy is. Some facilities will work with you to develop a payment plan to fit your budget.
What is the advantage of an Open Magnet? The Open Air Magnet has the ability to accommodate large and claustrophobic patients or one who is simply apprehensive about having an MRI. Also in many cases family members can stay in the room with the patient during the exam, this works extremely well with children. The Open Air Magnet was designed with patient comfort in mind.
You do have choices, make sure you are aware of all choices available to you. Keep your options open and make the decisions you feel are best for you and your family.
