More than 1 million people and their families are cared for by hospice each year, many with the support of hospice volunteers………

Hospice provides support and care for persons in the last phase of incurable disease so they may live as fully and as comfortably as possible.Hospice relies on volunteers in many unique and important ways.Each volunteer brings something special to Hospice to fulfill our mission of providing quality care to our patients.

Volunteers provide important services to hospice organizations and the people they serve.Whether it's providing companionship, support to family members or care givers, or helping with the community outreach programs the contributions of a volunteer are essential to the work provided by Hospice.

The focus of hospice relies on the belief that each of us has the right to die pain-free with dignity, and that our loved ones will receive the necessary support to allow us to do so.The hospice team provides support to ensure the highest quality of life possible for the person living with a life-limiting illness.Hospice focuses on caring, not curing and in most cases care is provided in the patient's home.
