How Can I Keep My Skin Looking Younger?

  • SUN PROTECTION - Continued sun exposure is largely responsible for wrinkling, blotchiness or “liver spots", broken blood vessels, dryness, not to mention a major cause of skin cancer.Use sunscreen with at least an SPF of 15 daily.

  • SLEEP - Try to get 7-8 hours a night.Your skin renews itself by building new cells while you sleep.

  • WATER - Drink 6 to 8 glasses each day to keep your skin hydrated.Loss of moisture is one cause of wrinkles.Soda, tea, coffee, juice and alcohol are not substitutes for water.Water is a natural appetite suppressant and helps rid the body of waste materials.

  • AVOID THE “NO-NO'S" - Your skin hates tobacco, alcohol and caffeine.Smoking also adds carbon monoxide and nicotine to the circulatory system, depriving skin tissue of much need oxygen. The skin responds to these “no-no's" by losing moisture and/or forming wrinkles.

  • EXERCISE - Exercise benefits the skin by helping revive circulation and speeds blood flow to the surface of your skin. It also reduces stress and improves sleep.

  • REDUCE STRESS - Stress can cause skin to react in the form of blemishes, hives and under-eye circles.Frowning and scowling can cause lines or wrinkles between the eyes and down turning lines at the corners of the mouth.Your mom was right-habitually tense facial expressions can create permanent lines, so smile!
